Introductions

As with everything new, I imagine some form of introduction is in order, as a means to explain this blog and its purpose.

In a nutshell, my aim with this particular blog is to offer my experience of life after completing a manuscript. The manuscript in question is entitled Firebird, and which you can read a snippet of here:

This is my first attempt at writing something of such a length and, as with many first time authors, it has been a labour of love thus far, completed in just under six months of frantic activity. Now, however, begins the interesting – and perhaps more serious – part of the process. Up until now, my interest was in whether or not I could actually stay focused on one topic for long enough to finish a whole story (a task easier said than done, given my appalling attention span). The purpose of this blog is to record what comes next: the tricky business of editing, altering and polishing, before, ultimately, the daunting prospect of actually attempting to do the unthinkable and move into the real world of getting published.

I’ll try and update as regularly and wittily as possible. In the meantime, I would be eternally grateful for any feedback on the prologue – good or bad, I’d welcome it all.

Regards,

A T.
